At Curlewis Public School students and staff joined with their 40 strong community in a working bee over a weekend to revamp their nature area and lay the ground work and erect 20 plus garden beds. They constructed a new kitchen and planted vegetables in their new raised vegetable gardens. A massive effort! They then involved themselves enthusiastically into a week focused on agriculture and food in Week 10, Term 3. Senior students installed irrigation to the garden beds as part of science. Healthy lunches were made by students with fresh produce. Students took part in a video conference that was linked to planting and setting out of their new garden beds before planting their seedlings and seeds. A student design competition for the upgrade of our chicken coop was launched.
