The great food writing competition

In the weeks leading up to Agriculture and Food week organise a writing competition whose winner/s could be announced as a starting point to the activities. Students should be asked to compose a creative non-fiction text which demonstrates a passion for good food. The competition should encourage a broad range of responses in a variety of genres. You may need to split the competition into age groups and assign word limits. You may wish to develop a marking criteria sheet from these ideas to judge the competition or create your own.
